Free web hosting is becoming a trend nowadays. It is advisable for those who want to practice programming or who only need a small website. It can also be suitable for companies who only have a small budget or for those people who only want a space online to be used for personal purposes; however, for businesses out there who want a more professional looking home on the net, it is still best to go for a paid one.

Free hosting will have banners and various unwanted ads on your website. You might be surprised that even the ads of your business rivals will be seen on your pages. This is something nobody wants if you want to create an impression online; particularly, if you want to protect the interest of your business.

Your URL will also contain a sub-domain or it will just be placed in a folder e.g. yourwebsite.freehosting.com and freehosting.com/yoursite for example. Because of this, you cannot expect good search engine rankings as well.

Another fall back of using free website hosting is that it cannot promise a 27/7 customer service. It also doesn’t offer much data space; hence, your content will be limited. Moreover, it doesn’t offer much data transfer and disk space. This means you cannot upload so many files. You will also encounter serious problems once your site starts to get a huge traffic. Your host will not be able to handle it. If you have plans of boosting your website, a free hosting may not work for you. It will be better to pay for the service that can easily upgrade your site if you have to or when it’s needed.

What’s worse about getting the free services is that only a few of them come along with a control panel. Therefore, you won’t be able to customize your site based on how you want it to be.

One of the advantages of getting a paid web hosting is that you will have your own domain. This will result to a better search engine ranking compared to when you’re only using a free hosting. Moreover, your site will have a more professional look. Should you encounter technical problems with your site, you can contact the customer support anytime. Part of the package as well will be FTP access. It also supports programming languages such as ASP, PHP, JSP, CGI/Perl and ColdFusion. Since you can enjoy a larger disk space and and data transfer, you can rest assure that your site can handle big traffic.

With paid web hosting, you are allowed to create web based email accounts. You can also protect your directories with passwords. All features of such service are advantageous to your business.

Business people online are now more inclined to take paid web hosting services because of the many benefits that they give compared to free ones; and if there is only one disadvantage of getting a paid web hosting. That would be it is not free.

If you are a complete beginner, then I bet you will be confused with all the terms and phrases surrounding SEO. To help you breakthrough this intimate circle we will explain some of the jargon you are likely to come across.

    SEO
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation, which simply is the art of improving your website’s position in the search engines by making changes to pages themselves or by other processes external to the website.

    Spider/Bot/Crawler
These terms refer to the same thing; a search engine robot. A bot will periodically visit your website to keep on top of changes you make to your pages and to assess what it thinks your content is about. It follows links it finds to other pages on your site and uses all the this information to ultimately rank your site in its result page.

    On-Page
These are changes made to the pages of a site itself. This may include changing the title of the webpage, adding alt tags to images or adding links to relevant subpages, known as Internal Linking.

    Off-Page
Just as On-page techniques focuses on the pages of your website, off-page is all about external processes.  Getting links to your site from others, issuing Press Releases and articles are all examples of off-page techniques designed to boost your website’s profile and ultimately it’s rank.

    Alt tags
Alt tags added to an image offer and ALTernative text-based description to devices that can’t load images, like some mobile devices and screen reader software used by the blind. In the case of screen readers, the alt text is spoken to the user. Alt tags are relevant to SEO because search engines can use this information to determine relevancy of a search term.

    Internal Linking
This is simply linking from pages on your site to other pages on your site. As well as creating good keyword association with the correct anchor text, it offers a better experience for the user if they can reach subpages of your site easily. Search engines favour sites that are good for users, both in terms of  relevancy to their search term but also in usability, which makes internal linking a must.

Anchor Text This is text that is clickable, and links to another page. Search engine bots use anchor text to determine what the target page is about.

The professional in human resource exam and the senior professional in human resources exam will test your knowledge of the entire body of human resources developed by the society of human resources. The complexity of laws, regulations and compensation rights can be intense and confusing if you don’t know how to answer the questions the way the society want you to. Let us examine Compensation plans which will be covered on the exam You can use a Web-based program for planning and budgeting, much as you would use a spreadsheet on your computer. By feeding in different numbers, you can experiment with different possible outcomes and you can allow employees to access these programs to make their own choices among selected options. Knowledge management Capture, publish, personalize and distribute information to your employees and managers, whether you want to facilitate individual learning, teamwork, measurements, assessments or other activities. Employee development You can provide classroom training, coaching and mentoring, on-the-job training, communities of practice and organization-wide learning communities.

Once you recognize these possibilities, you can create a business case for setting up a Web-based HR initiative and design a framework for transforming your HR function to use the Web. Then, determine your strategy and the Web architecture you will use, so you can select work flow software for your system. Decide if you want to create your own HR service center and if so, take steps to set up the necessary technologies and hire and train the staff. You can also outsource many of your HR functions to an Applications Service Provider (ASP) or Managed Solutions Provider. That way, you can internalize various functions when you are ready, and your ASP can help you in plan what to do in-house and what to outsource.

The success of any performance improvement effort depends on a critical but often neglected up-front analysis, which itself depends on having the proper tools. Program developers and managers must Assess an organization’s real business needs and the status of its supporting systems; Analyze necessary worker skills, knowledge and attitudes; Specify performance requirements and evaluation standards; Produce a viable, comprehensive performance improvement design. This up-front analysis is, in essence, a diagnosis. As in medicine, you can’t determine proper treatment to achieve employee improvement if you don’t have a proper diagnosis. Yet, companies and organizations worldwide try to do just that every day.
